PARTS
OEM number, alternative number and machine compatibility
How to avoid a wrong order for older or modified machines.
The same part can have three numbers: that of the machine builder (OEM), that of the part manufacturer, and an alternative number. Order on the wrong number and you get a part that does not quite fit.
Where it goes wrong
- Older machines. Over the years a part has been superseded by a newer type, with a different number.
- Modified machines. A previous owner has converted something, and the parts book is no longer correct.
- Inch and metric. On machines from the US and the UK, a size sometimes looks very much like a metric size.
How we find out
We search on all the numbers at once and look at the machine the part has to go into. If we are in doubt, we ask for a photo or measure the old part.
Send us the number, the machine type and the serial number, and we will look it up for you.
